Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in association with The Department of Music, University of Dhaka is organising KI RAAGINI BAJAALE, a programme of Tagore’s Songs and Classical Vocal Music at Social Science Faculty Auditorium, University of Dhaka, at 10:30 AM on November 15, 2014.

The theme for this programme would be an amalgamation of Tagore songs and Hindustani Classical vocals. It will be an hour and half long show depicting 8 ragas interspersed with Tagore songs. Ms. Shreya Guhathakurta will present the Tagore songs and Mr. Deborshee Bhattacharjee will render the classical vocal music.

Ms. Shreya Guhathakurta trained under legends of Rabindra Sangeet such as Late Suchitra Mitra, Late Konika Bandopadhyay and her “mentor, teacher and guide” Shri Sudeb Guhathakurta who is her paternal uncle and the current Principal of Dakshinee. Following formal training, Ms. Guhathakurta has performed in concerts alongside veterans such as Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Aparna Sen, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Farooq Sheikh, Saswati Guhathakurta, Bratati Bandyopadhyay and Srikanta Acharya. She has released several CDs by SaReGaMa, HMV. She has won awards such as “Shyamal Sen Smriti Sanman”.

Mr. Deborshee Bhattacharjee is a very promising musician of this age. He was born in a musical family and was introduced to music at the age of 5 by his mother and first guru, Smt. Reena Bhattacharjee. Since the age of 10 he has been undergoing training from the universally acclaimed musician and maestro Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. He has performed in several prestigious musical concerts across the globe and has created a separate niche in the world of elite musicians.

Deborshee has already marked his versatility among the audience as he has been performing and composing different genres of music all over the world & teaching for the last 10 years in Shrutinandan, the esteemed institution of Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty.

All are welcome to a programme of Tagore’s Songs and Classical Vocal Music by Ms. Shreya Guhathakurta and Mr. Deborshee Bhattacharjee from India, at Social Science Faculty Auditorium, University of Dhaka, at 10:30 AM on November 15, 2014.
