
More than 1000 Local IT professional and students have recived training for attending the second international IT standarized examination named Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE) to be held on April 27.
The three-day training programme in seven batch have been ended today simulteniously BUET, Dhaka University, Brac University and Rajshahi University.
The ITEE, presently mutual recognized by 12 Asian countries, is basically a national standardized examination of Japan for IT professionals, attended by five to six lakh IT students every year. IPA (Information-technology Promotion Agency), Japan is conducting ITEE where five to six lakh IT students and IT professionals attended every year.
The Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology has taken initiative to introduce ITEE in Bangladesh under a project titled BD-ITEC with support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for giving international recognition to local IT professionals.
The BD-ITEC is supposed to conduct two trial ITEE examination in the country. The first ITEE already held in 27 October 2013 where Bangladeshi local IT experts came second out of seven Asian countries and the 2nd ITEE will be held in 27 April 2014simultaneously at BUET, Dhaka University and Rajshahi University.
At the concluding day of the training Dr. Sk. Amzad Hossain, Project Director BD-ITEC said IT professionals and graduates of Bangladesh need to identify their capacity by sitting on an international IT standardize test like ITEE for getting international reorganization. After holding two trial tests, BD-ITEC will apply for membership of IT Professional Examination Council (ITPEC) by June 2014, he said.
Hideo Hoya, chief advisor of JICA- ITEE Project wished that ITEE will help giving world standard competitiveness to Bangladesh IT professionals that opens door of international job market to them.
