The newly amended Tobacco Control (TC) law forbids smoking at public places and range of such places has also been increased, but smoking remains a usual trend at the declared spots, reads a report on the Daily Sangbad by Sebika Debnath, one of the ATMA members, on October 19, 2014.

Following the report, about 42 million people befall victim of passive smoking at public places without active participation on smoking.

Anti-tobacco organizations alleged that slack implementation of the TC law is responsible for such a hike in public place smoking, after the report.

Thereby, Rules- for the effective implementation of the amended TC law should be finalized soon, opined anti-tobacco experts according to the report.
